Pleasantville Effect
This is an image gallery with images by various ABS Members showing their use of what we call "The Pleasantville Effect".
This effect is a photography and cinematic effect that highlights certain objects of focus by using colour, while the rest of the image is black and white.
Many motion pictures use this effect. One of the latest being Sin City. We name it after the motion picture Pleasantville because this movie parodies the effect by having colour spread throughout each character as they become enlightened throughout the movie, eventually colouring the whole modernism town of Pleasantville out of the standard black and white 1950s and into the exciting world of colour.
